Domestic violence is something I am against. I despise any type of violence against a spouse or significant other, including that perpetrated by women. I’ve had my ups and downs in life like anyone else, but I can recall one particularly dark time as I write this. I was in the station making my statement to press charges and just had a million things rushing through my mind at one time. He was detained in jail and I took a cab home and felt like I was at the lowest point in my life.
About a week later, my husband and I reconciled and agreed that it was too much alcohol that led to the misunderstood events of that night. As I contacted the police to discuss dropping the charges, I learned that the District Attorney’s office was still pressing charges against my husband! It was time to get legal representation.
